ABOUT ATTORNEY EMILY COSTANZO
Emily Costanzo joined Duffy Law as an Associate Attorney in 2022. Her passion for Title IX law first took shape as a young student athlete and then, later, it was reinforced as a Division I co-captain of the UCONN women’s soccer team — where the topic of gender equity was ever-present in her role as an athletic leader.
Emily now applies her legal training to her experiential understanding of the importance of equitable gender treatment and due process to ensure that colleges and universities are held accountable for upholding the protections Title IX provides.
Having attended law school during Covid, Attorney Costanzo has a particularly vivid appreciation for the profoundly disruptive impact the pandemic had on her fellow students. The normal pre-pandemic challenges associated with life on campus were amplified a hundred-fold by constantly shifting rules, interpersonal isolation, online learning – all of which are still making life at school trickier for many students, especially those who wind up in an already-stressful student misconduct process.
Whether advising her clients on how to best prepare for an investigatory interview or analyzing the evidence to be presented in a hearing or spotting a subtle-but-critical procedural error made by a school official, Emily brings her sharp eye for detail, her analytical mind, and her compassionate, rigorous advocacy to every case on behalf of every client.
